FAQ'sFAQ If you are purchasing a Satellite or Terrestrial receiver, please read this FAQ. It forms part of the Special Terms of Sale.
What software do the Terrestrial and Satellite receivers come with? What about Warranty? What channels will I be able to get? What do you support? Will you help me obtain certain channels/or services? Are the boxes modified in any way? What do I need for Freesat/ FTA satellite? What is the difference between Freesat & Free to Air (FTA)? All Terrestrial and Satellite receivers come loaded with the latest FTA software. This Free-to-Air software allows you to receive the common unencrypted channels.
We DO NOT modify software on the receivers nor do we support unauthorised software. Please ensure you only load software that is produced and supported by the official product manufacturer. Please read the product manual for details.
What about Warranty? If your item is faulty, please read the Returns section to arrange return of your product. Please click here for returns policy. We will ensure prompt repair or replacement of your product if it is faulty providing the item is still in the condition it was purchased in.

If after following the above steps, you still believe that the receiver is at fault, please contact us.
What channels will I be able to get? Due to the nature of transmissions on satellite and Terrestrial, we cannot guarantee or control what channels you will have access to. What do you support? It is up to you to find a provider and list of services they provide and to ensure that your signal levels are correct. We do not support any specific service providers. Most Satellite receivers can be used outside UK. Products can be used in countries where standard Digital Video Broadcasting DVB-T & DVB-S standards are used. Again, please contact your intended service provider for assistance in obtaining CAM modules for their services. Will you help me obtain certain channels/or services? Unfortunately we cannot help you obtain services or channels. This depends entirely on what and whom you are trying to obtain services from. Are the boxes modified in any way? Our receivers usually include a Common Interface (CI) slot which allows the receiver to gain access to encrypted services (typically those requiring payment to the service provider). To access these services, customers will need to obtain a Conditional Access Module (CAM) which may be available from your dealer or from the cable / satellite operator. They will also need to contact the cable or satellite operator to arrange payment for these services. Please ensure you have checked compatibility with your service provider and have arranged for technical assistance prior to purchasing the product. We cannot provide technical installation support on behalf of your service provider. Please use the product manual provided with the product to assist you with your installation. Any illegal software or hardware enhancements made to cable or satellite receivers will automatically void any and all warranties associated with the product. Furthermore, any liabilities arising from such activity will pass onto the consumer. What do I need for Freesat/ FTA satellite? http://www.skywonder.co.uk/html/product-details.php?ProductID=308 What is the difference between Freesat & Free to Air (FTA)? (1) A FTA receiver requires manual tuning from time to time as broadcasters add new channels and change existing transmissions. However this is a very simple procedure and some receivers have software updates to counteract this. A Freesat box will do this automatically.
(2) A Freesat box has interactive red button channel access and digital text, a free to air box receivers do not have this function. Other then the points above FTA & Freesat receivers receives the same channels in the same way. Any further queries or support, please visit www.cable-closet.com. |
